Volunteer role description
Where will I be volunteering?
You will be volunteering from home and out and about in your local area, usually up to about 25 miles radius although this
can be smaller if you prefer.
What do I need to have available to be able to do this role?
You need to have sufficient time available to respond quickly to requests for collection. You also need sufficient space to be able to store a reasonably large quantity of tools awaiting collection.
What will I be helping to achieve?
You will be helping us collect the many tools the public kindly donates and storing them ready for the TWAM van to collect.
What are the main things I will be doing?
Taking calls and emails from members of the public and arranging collection times
Driving to collect tools from people and bringing them back to your storage area
Arranging collections from the TWAM van
What strengths and skills will be helpful in this role?
You need to be of a friendly nature as you will be the public face of TWAM. You should be organised as you need to be able to sort your schedule out. You should enjoy driving and ideally reasonably fit as there can be some heavy loads.
What support can I expect to receive?
A Full induction and volunteer handbook on starting. A named contact whilst you are volunteering and further training as required.
What can I expect from volunteering with TWAM?
The warm satisfaction of being able to make a difference. A chance to meet new people and learn new skills. A reference if required for a future employer.
What do I do now?
We’ll then take up references and invite you for an informal chat, either in person or on the phone depending on where you live
