Volunteer role description
Where will I be volunteering?
Currently we have tools sorting and welcome teams in Coventry, Cowdenbeath, Ipswich and Penarth
What commitment is expected from me?
It would be really helpful if you volunteered regularly, ideally on an agreed day/s every week
What will I be helping to achieve?
Ensuring that all visitors are made welcome and that all tools are quickly and safely unloaded, and sorted into their trades.
What are the main things I will be doing?
Greeting supporters on arrival
Helping to unload the tool donors vehicle or the TWAM van quickly but safely
Sorting the tools into the various trades and crating up for teams across the centre or boxing tools ready to be sent on
Keeping the welcome and sorting area organised and tidy
What strengths and skills will be helpful in this role?
A friendly and welcoming personality. Commitment and a willingness to work hard. Organised, Sensible and flexible with the ability to take instructions.
What support can I expect to receive?
A Full induction and volunteer handbook on starting. A named contact whilst you are volunteering and further training as required.
What can I expect from volunteering with TWAM?
The warm satisfaction of being able to make a difference. A chance to meet new people and learn new skills. A reference if required for a future employer.
