Office Administration Team Member
Volunteer role description
Where will I be volunteering?
Most of our administration will be carried out at TWAM Head Office in Ipswich. However, our other centres also have some administration work so opportunities may be available elsewhere
What commitment is expected from me?
It would be really helpful if you volunteered regularly, ideally on an agreed day/s every week
What will I be helping to achieve?
That we are able to deal with the many requests and donations received by phone, post, email and face to face as efficiently and accurately as possible.
What are the main things I will be doing?
Answering the Phone and dealing with queries from TWAM collectors and members of the public.
Responding to letters and emails received.
Processing donations on our Salesforce CRM Database.
Sending ‘thank you’ letters to the many people who donate to TWAM.
Many other admin tasks….the role is always varied !!
What strengths and skills will be helpful for this role?
A friendly personality and able to work well as part of a team. You need to be computer literate and if you are familiar with Microsoft Office, that will be helpful, but you don’t need to be an expert on all the systems we use as training will be provided. You do need to be organised and enjoy a role where every volunteer shift may be different. An eye for detail and being able to produce accurate work is important. If you have previous customer service skills and are used to speaking to people on the phone, that’s a bonus!
What support can I expect to receive?
A Full induction and volunteer handbook on starting. A named contact whilst you are volunteering and further training as required
What can I expect from volunteering with TWAM?
The warm satisfaction of being able to make a difference. A chance to meet new people and learn new skills. A reference if required for a future employer.
What do I do now?
We’ll then take up references and invite you in for a visit and informal chat with one of our team.
