Volunteer role description
Where will I be volunteering?
Currently we have haberdashery teams in Ipswich and Coventry.
What commitment is expected from me?
It would be really helpful if you volunteered regularly, ideally on an agreed day/s every week.
What will I be helping to achieve?
Helping put together a haberdashery kit to go out with each of the many sewing machines TWAM sends out.
What are the main things I will be doing?
Sorting through donated cottons, buttons and other items required by a tailor to make up haberdashery kit
Boxing up Haberdashery kits ready to send to Africa
Sorting through donated material and boxing this up to be sent out
What strengths and skills will be helpful for this role?
A friendly personality and able to work well as part of a team. An eye for detail and determination to see the job through.
Ideally good eyesight and nimble fingers as you will often be handling lots of small items. Able to work well under pressure
as there may be shipment deadlines to meet.
What support can I expect to receive?
A Full induction and volunteer handbook on starting. A named contact whilst you are volunteering and further training as required.
What can I expect from volunteering with TWAM?

We’ll then take up references and invite you in for a visit and informal chat with one of our team.
