Volunteer role description

 

Where will I be volunteering?

Currently we have a hand knitting and wool team in Ipswich

What commitment is expected of me

It would be really helpful if you volunteered regularly, ideally on an agreed day/s every week

What will I be helping to achieve?

Helping to make up sacks of wool to be sent out with knitting machines, and preparing Hand Knitting kits.

What are the main things I will be doing?

  • Sorting through donated wool and preparing this into sacks to be sent out with knitting machines.

  • Preparing hand knitting kits which include knitting needles, patterns and all the accessories that a hand knitter would need.

What strengths and skills will be helpful for this role?

A friendly personality and able to work well as part of a team.  An eye for detail and determination to see the job through.

Organised and able to work well under pressure as there may be shipment deadlines which need to be met.

What support can I expect to receive?

A Full induction and volunteer handbook on starting. A named contact whilst you are  volunteering and further training as required.

What can I expect from volunteering with TWAM?

if required for a future employer.
